If you're working out (or you hope to) in a regular way, chances are that like a lot of other people in your position, you're doing it to gain a muscular body that you can show off. Well, here's something to know – gaining muscle mass, while there's a lot to be said for it, isn't everything. Losing fat is a good part of it too.
The thing is, that if you're gaining muscle mass to look big and attractive, no one is going to be able to see any definition to those muscles, as there is going to be a layer of fat covering them. Now you're probably telling yourself that this is old news. The thing is though that really living by this rule should save you a great deal of trouble. If you work on losing the layer of fat first, you'll find that smaller muscles (that you spend less effort on) can bring you the same kinds of visual appeal.
The choice is yours. Work really hard on gaining muscle mass and look small, or lose the fat, work out less hard, and look even bigger.
